Suggested Year 7 Social Function Venues
For coffee mornings
Bobbi Beans Again a close destination, great coffee. Some groups met here on a Saturday between sporting commitments in 2017.
Bar Sur Loup. Just up the road, sells delicious French food.
Cafe Romeo. A little further away but still handy.
Whole Family Outing to a Park
Westerfolds Park. A big close park with plenty of space. You just need to be specific where to meet so that the group can find each other. There are six different picnic areas, so choose one and let others know via the supplied maps on their website.
Bulleen Park - Possum Hollow Playground. This has been our most popular venue for family gatherings. Something to do for everyone, whether it’s younger or older siblings, the Year 7 boys and parents. Again you need to be very specific about the actual meeting place.
Latitude. We’ve had some very successful Father/Son nights here.
Bounce. Another fun activity centre with lots of action.
Bare Foot Bowling. Our core groups have done quite a few whole family barefoot bowling evenings at the end of the year. Always very successful.
Colombo’s We find this venue is great for providing lots of room and it’s usually one table for the parents, one for the Year 7 boys and one for the younger siblings (who usually have a ball!)
The Manningham. Very similar to Colombos in that they can cater for big groups, provide a few tables, everyone can order whatever they want and pay separately. Quite a few families did dinners in 2017 and were very happy with the outcomes.
Four Leaves Restaurant/Cafe. One of our Marcellin families own and run this restaurant and cafe. They do great pizzas, can cater for groups and will take bookings.
Grown Ups Only Venues
If you would prefer to sneak off without the kids, and enjoy some quality ‘getting to know you’ time with other new parents, these are the options for you! Meet for casual drinks, a meal or coffee and dessert.
